By partnering with a number of hospitals and clinics in Takoradi, we offer a unique and authentic experience of healthcare in Ghana. While on placement in our partner hospital, you can expect to see a range of ailments such as typhoid psychosis, malaria and TB. Ghana is also a place of stunning natural beauty. The weekly barbeque on Thursday evenings is definitely the highlight of the week. As well as some delicious food and dancing to catchy Ghanaian music, one week we were treated to some cultural dancing and drumming.

I worked on the A&E department and also worked occasionally in the evenings on the maternity and neonatal ward. These two weeks gave me the once in a life time experience to become hands on in areas of work unfamiliar and usually off-limits to me.
